Don't Sleep & Open Your Eye

1. Not many Malaysians are aware of Malaysia's current situation. Many would say that Malaysia is still okay and there is no need to fix it. And in addition, people tend to stay cool and act as nothing is really happening in our country.

 2. We started as an agriculture (rubber and tin industries) based country, but the we had our economic take off and joined the second group of Asian Tigers thanks to Tun Mahathir Mohamad. Today we can say that we are proud as a Malaysian and we are happy with it. We are happy with our achievements, we are happy with our economic progress and we are happy with today's political situation.

3. But think again.

4. Crimes are happening here and there. 'Buang anak' cases being the normal headlines everyday. Then, we have corruptions and malpractices among the elites while having the 'duit kopi' among our irrespnsible government servants. We see part timers in faith, to their nation and to their responsibilities. Killing and conspiracies also became an option. So you see, I can continue with the list, but that is not the point. The point is, we're living in a dangerous world!

5. I know that you are aware of this, but hay... you could sit still, having fun and just go to sleep, head free, bluntly believing that all will be well tomorrow. Okay then, you can continue with your sleep and keep on hoping.

6. The question is, can we accept this? If we do then we would be accepting what is a travesty of justice and human rights. Like it or not, we are the nation's next generation and we should change ourself first if we want to see changes around us. Other wise, in one way or another, we will be honouring criminals and injustice on the land.
